Tigranyan

Hayk Tigranyan, was born in Yerevan, Armenia on October 30, 1984. He graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas, firstly at the Brass Department as an oboist, and later at the Vocal-theory Department as an opera singer. In 2008 received Master degree of Academic music. He had studied with Prof. Petrovich and also had attended Master courses with a world famous tenor Gegham Grigoryan. In the summer of 2019 took masterclasses with vocal coach Dale Fundling in Spain (Madrid).

During his study, Hayk gained work experience as an oboe player in Yakutsk State Orchestra of Opera and Ballet Theater and later in Armenian State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre as a  choir artist.

Since 2008, Hayk is the principal bass opera singer of Armenian State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. He has performed as a guest artist in many cities, including among others Berlin, Frankfurt, Götha, Eisenach, Dreieich , Russelsheim, Darmshtadt, Tallin,  Kaunas, Riga, Parnu, Beirut, Moscow,  St. Petersburg,Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea, Paris, Rome, Vienna and others including the world’s most famous opera houses, such as Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Latvian National Opera, the Bolshoi (Grand)Theater in Moscow, etc.

Hayk Tigranyan debuted at the National Academic theatre of Opera and Ballet after A. Spendiaryan with the role of Kyoxva in A.Tigranyan’s “Anush” (2008). Than he performed with the roles of Melik  in A.Tigranyan’s Davit Bek, Vasak in A.Tigranyan’s Arshak B (2010), Bazar Bashi in A. Harutyunyan’s Sayat Nova (2011). In 2013 performed the main role of Avo in “Artsvaberd” opera by Andrey Babaev with the Armenian State Philharmonic orchestra.

From 2014 to 2013 he had been singing the role of Ramfis in Verdi’sAida opera (2014), Ferrando in Vedsis Il Trovatore  (2014), Zuniga in  Bizets Carmen (2015), Oroveso in V. Bellini’s Norma (2016), Alidoro in G. Rossini’s La Cenerentola  (2016), Il Sagrestano in G. Puccini’s Tosca   (2016), Verdi’s Requiem (2017), Old Gypsy in Rakhmaninoff’s Aleco, Callistene in Donizetti’s Il Pogliuto  (2017), Msra Meliq in H. Stepanyans opera “Sasuntsi Davit” 2017, Attila in Verdi’s “Atilla” (2019), Roshe in Um. Giordano’s “Andrea Cheniere” (2019), Don Profondo in G. Rossini’s “Il Viaggio a Reims” (2021), “Petite messe solennelle”  by Rossini,(2020’) Mephistopheles from Gounod’s “Faust”, Lodoviko in  Verdi’s “Otello” (Concert version) (2022), Timur in Puccini’s “Turandot” (2023), Bonze in Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” (2023) and other operas and concert performances during the Premieres of operas at the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet under the button of conductors C. Orbelian, Y. Davtyan, E. Topchyan, G. Marciano, Al. Vereshagin,  M. Kisocci, H. Arzumanyan, A. Araqelyan.

Mr. Tetvadze's current repertoire is a testament to his enduring talent and versatility:

·       Verdi – "Simon Boccanegra" as Fiesco

·       Verdi – "La forza del destino" as Padre Guardiano

·       Verdi – "Macbeth" as Banquo

·       Verdi – "Nabucco" as Zaccaria

·       Verdi – "Don Carlos" as the Grand Inquisitor

·       Mozart – "Don Giovanni" as Il Commendatore

·       Verdi – "Rigoletto" as Sparafucile and Monterone

On the grand stage of the Tbilisi Opera, Mr. Tetvadze has captivated audiences with his resounding performances, such as Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” as Daland, Bizet’s “Carmen” as Toreador, and numerous roles in Verdi’s masterpieces like “Simon Boccanegra” and “Macbeth”.

In 2013, he refined his craft through a masterclass in Milan, Italy, under the guidance of Dzhiayot Bonald, and graced the Saaremaa Festival in Iceland, performing unforgettable renditions in Verdi's "Rigoletto".

His illustrious journey took a significant turn when he debuted at the Kharkiv Opera House in Ukraine with a stirring performance of Mussorgsky's "Boris Godunov". Europe became a stage where his talent shone brightly, leading him to the opera theater of Ulm, Germany, where since 2006, he has performed diverse roles from Osmin in "The Abduction from the Seraglio" to Banquo in "Macbeth."

In 2005, Mr. Tetvadze joined the Novosibirsk Opera Theater as a leading soloist, adding significant performances like Verdi's Rigoletto (Sparafucile) and Borodin's Prince Igor (Konchak) to his repertoire. He was also a finalist at the International Festival of Voices of Verdi in Busseto, Italy, that same year.

Since 2001, he has been a prominent figure at the Zakaria Paliashvili State Opera and Ballet Theater of Tbilisi, making a striking debut as Basilio.

Mr. Tetvadze’s musical voyage began with formal education; in 1996, he pursued vocal performance at the Vano Sarajishvili Conservatory, earning a bachelor's degree by 2000 and completing a master's degree in 2002. His path in the arts was paved earlier when he majored in drama and cinema at Shota Rustaveli Institute of Theater and Cinema, graduating in 1994.

As a young prodigy, Mr. Tetvadze demonstrated his early passion for music by studying violin at the 10th Music School in Tbilisi. He balanced this with his academic pursuits, attending Tbilisi Secondary School No. 163 and graduating in 1987-88.

Born into an influential family of teachers in Tbilisi, Georgia, Mr. Tetvadze was destined for a remarkable career. His lineage, rich with musical heritage, laid the foundation for his journey into the world of classical music, setting the stage for an illustrious career that continues to inspire.
